David A. Hamel, the founder of Northstar Aerial Photography, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampshire College in Amherst in 1981, and his Master of Health Professions degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985. He is also a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography's professional photography program.

Being an avid aviator, Mr. Hamel holds a multi-engine Airline Transport Pilot certificate, a single engine Commercial Pilot certificate, and is a Certified Flight Instructor qualified to teach both basic and instrument flight in single and multi-engine airplanes.

He founded Northstar in order to provide custom aerial photographic services to businesses and individuals who appreciate both the beauty and value of the aerial perspective. His studio is located in the woods of York, Maine, and he welcomes clients to come visit to view his completed works and to discuss new assignments.
